Volunteer programme registration open – become one of our "Heroes"

The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2027 will be an unforgettable event – but it won’t happen without your help! You, and many others, will together be the most important key people working behind the scenes.

By becoming a volunteer, you’ll have the chance to meet loads of amazing people and create experiences and memories for life together. We invite everyone, near and far, to help out and contribute to something greater that lives on long after the closing ceremonies.

First registration round closes 10 July

To increase your chances of contributing in the area closest to your heart, we recommend signing up as soon as possible. The first round closes 10 July.

Those who register before 10 July will receive a response by mid-September at the latest. If you have been given a place, you will also be informed of which function you will belong to. Schedules will then be drawn up and shared with you no later than November.

The second round will provisionally open at the end of summer.

We need everyone – with or without qualifications

We need you who are curious, committed and ready to help, regardless of background and experience. Some roles require specific knowledge or qualifications, such as a driving licence to work as a driver, or CPR training to work in first aid.

For roles without specific requirements, we will provide you with the necessary training.

Straight from the heart – words from previous volunteers

“Great to meet new volunteers who become friends after just a few days working together. Everyone is so positive and happy. Exciting and fun to see and meet athletes and coaches, especially for someone like me who loves ski jumping.”

“The sense of community, the atmosphere, being part of something big and all the wonderful people I met made the weekend both rewarding and memorable.”

Want to Volunteer? Frequently Asked Questions

What does a volunteer do?

As a volunteer, you will work within one of 13 main areas, which together include more than 70 different roles. These range from accreditation distribution and medical services to venue operations, transportation, and spectator services.

You will become part of a team of 2,000 people who help ensure that the championship runs smoothly throughout all twelve days of competition.

How many days am I expected to work?

Our preference is that you are available to work for at least five days during the event period, and we will prioritize applicants who can work more days.

We will also take the number of days you are available into account when assigning volunteers to different areas and roles.

What should I wear?

If you work at least five days, you will receive a set of volunteer clothing from adidas. The set includes a jacket, pants, a hat, and gloves. You will be able to keep the clothing after the event.

If you work fewer than five days, you will be assigned to roles where you will wear a volunteer vest over your own clothes instead.

All volunteers will receive a beanie to keep, regardless of how many days they work.

Will food be provided?

Yes. If your work shift is at least six hours long, you will be provided with a meal.

Meals are served in a school cafeteria and consist of a buffet prepared on-site by professional chefs. A vegetarian option will be available every day.

Do you have accomodation for volunteers?

Yes, we can offer a limited number of sleeping accommodations in classrooms at Lugnetgymnasiet. There is an option to purchase a bed space for SEK 350 per night in classrooms where 4–10 people sleep together, depending on the size of the room. There is also accommodation on a hard floor surface for SEK 150 per night, where you bring your own sleeping mat. In these rooms, 10–15 people stay together. A simple breakfast is included in the price.

You can indicate your accommodation preference in your volunteer registration. Bed spaces will be allocated on an ongoing basis. If you need accommodation, you should register as early as possible, as we can only offer a limited number of sleeping places.
